Fill in the Gaps of Your Knowledge & Skills
Dr. Whitlock and Dr Bragdon will depict the new challenges facing youth today...challenges that we were not previously prepared to work with: You will see video clips of youth describing their challenges in being highly sensitive and unusually perceptive. You will hear how parents, teachers and providers have not been trained to full acknowledge the issues these youth have--and many are misdiagnosed as mentally ill. When given appropriate support these youth become the pioneers and leaders of our world as the have extraordinary capacities for insight, creativity, compassion and wisdom. This open house will give you the ability to recognize these youth and support them to realize their potential. You will receive a handout to remind you what profile to look for. You will be able to discuss this with the presenters. Helping these youth succeed can be one of the most satisfying interactions you may have as a parent, counselor, teacher or friend to youth.
